On May 18, 2022, the Kansas Supreme Court approved redistricting maps as a result of the 2020 census.   With this new map, the 59th District contains 88% of Franklin County residents, representing 22,916 people.  The notable exception is the northeast corner of the county, containing Wellsville, which is now a part of District 5.
